Travel photography will be my lifelong personal project. You can take a look through my photos from New Orleans, Hawaii, and San Francisco, or click the ‘Travel’ tag at the bottom of this post to see everything!
This particular post is so dear to me, because it’s full of photos from last summer’s visit to England – a trip I took with one of my closest friends, and my favorite trip I’ve ever taken.
This may sound incredibly cliche (I’ve heard someone else say this about a trip, and thought it was cheesy until I experienced it for myself), but I now think about my life as “Before England” and “After England”. This trip was better than I ever could have hoped for, and put in motion so many beautiful things in my life related to my career, health, relationships… I don’t know how it will ever be topped.
Here are my England Top Picks:
London –
Afternoon Tea at Swan, Shakespeare’s Globe
Attending the Evensong Service at Westminster Abbey (which also had my favorite gift shop in all of London)
Seeing a play at the Globe. We saw A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and it was one of my favorite things we did!
We met up with a local friend at The Anchor Bankside, and it was the most quintessential British Pub experience we could have ever hoped for.
Shopping and food at Covent Garden (we ate at Honest Burger and loved it!)
We only visited two museums in London, but they were both incredible – The National Portrait Gallery and the Victoria & Albert Museum (where there is the best photography exhibit I’ve ever seen in a museum! It was beautiful).
Seeing a movie at Electric Cinema. Trust me on this one. It’s the most enjoyable movie theatre experience I’ve had in my life (and the best movie theatre food!)
Oxford and The Cotswolds –
This Airbnb. I still think about it almost weekly.
A drive around the Cotswolds. We went to Burford, Bourton-on-the-Water, and Stowe-on-the Wold
Breakfast at Vaults and Garden in Oxford – it’s in the basement of a cathedral!
A Walking Tour of Oxford – our guide was so delightful and knew so much about the school and town!
*Bonus Note: If you’re into playlists, I made “English Roadtrip” to listen to during all of our countryside drives. Enjoy!
