One of the sweetest weddings I photographed last year was Laura and Robert’s Third Presbyterian Church Wedding.
Whenever a bride fills out the contact form on my website, I ask them if there’s anything they’d like to share about their wedding. Laura sent me the most heartfelt message, but the first sentence captured it all beautifully. “As someone who has loved photography since I was a young girl and had a grandfather who was once a photographer, I have always treasured images that were most candid, emotional, and full of movement.”
Candid, emotional, and full of movement. Laura and Robert’s wedding day was the most beautiful canvas for each of these things to thrive. Their ceremony was early in the afternoon, so they spent the morning slowly getting ready and taking photos together. I witnessed them soak up every little conversation, hug, and gift exchanged between each other and their friends and family.
Their day was full of thoughtful details – always my favorite! Laura’s dress was vintage from J.Crew bridal. It was the dress she’d always had her heart set on, and she was able to track it down (in her size!) with a little persistence and the help of the internet. She wore a vintage wax flower bridal crown, carried a vintage handbag, and wore the Floris perfume that Queen Elizabeth II wore every day. Her brother designed her wedding programs, and she pinned lockets with photos of her late older sister and her grandfather to her bouquet. I could go on and on. Everything was carefully selected, and Laura had the loveliest taste for thoughtfully curated vintage pieces.
Enjoy photos from Laura and Robert’s Third Presbyterian Church wedding, and If you know anyone looking for a Birmingham wedding photographer, send them my way! I’d love to provide them with an effortless photography experience and a beautiful collection of timeless film and digital photos.
