The plan was slightly spontaneous. Less than an hour before our start time, we learned Mary Katherine and Will’s previous choice of location for their engagement session was closed for a private event. We quickly made the decision to move to Clubhouse on Highland in Highland Park. It’s the site of their future rehearsal dinner, and it proved to be even more perfect than our original plan!
As we made ourselves comfortable in the house’s cozy corners and meandered around the sidewalks enjoying the fresh spring air, we got to know each other. We chatted about jobs, dating, mutual friends, wedding plans. We continued our session across the street at Rhodes Park, the very spot where Will proposed! You can find a photo of them sitting on the park bench where it happened towards the end of this post.
The most intentional choice of the whole session? Mary Katherine and Will’s second, more casual outfits were the same outfits they wore on their first date together. I’ve always been a sucker for sentiment, and that detail couldn’t have been more thoughtful!
Enjoy photos from Mary Katherine and Will’s Clubhouse on Highland engagement session. If you know anyone looking for a Birmingham wedding photographer, send them my way! I’d love to provide them with an effortless photography experience and a beautiful collection of timeless film and digital photos.
