I recently spent a long weekend visiting New York for the first time. The city has been on my travel list for a very long time, and it was just as magical as I had hoped it would be! Sometimes, I can have such high expectations for how a trip or an experience will go, then it’s nothing like I hoped. I was terrified that would be the case with this weekend, but I was so wrong!
My favorite thing about New York is the parks. After walking past buildings on buildings, we’d suddenly turn a corner, and there’d be a patch of green, tree-enclosed paradise. Those occasional blocks of green were heaven to me. I also love how the size and number of people in the city made me feel very insignificant, yet strangely, very much at home. Those fast walking, super stylin’, I-can-do-anything-with-confidence New Yorkers are my kind of people.
I came back from the weekend not exhausted as I had anticipated, but feeling creatively energized, fulfilled, and with major inspiration to plan future trips. Every season in New York? Consider it my personal challenge. Let the pictures work their magic as the city did on me.
