Photos in special places have an extra layer of sentimentality to them. The Northcutt family has rented the same beach house on 30A every summer for years – a tradition that’s become as certain for them as the sunrise. They wanted their most recent trip documented with photos together.
Today I’m sharing a few photos from one of my favorite newborn sessions from last fall – sweet little Leni and her family. We all got together on a beautiful fall afternoon for a few front porch family photos and some individual photos of Leni.
Fall is here, and for many families, that means updating family photos just in time for Christmas cards! But before you get to your session, you’ve got a job to do: picking out what to wear! This post is full of tips for how to choose family photo outfits. I’m also sharing a few inspiration photos to get the ideas flowing!
Today we have photos of Baby Reid and his sweet family! We spent a Sunday morning together in their beautiful home in Birmingham, Alabama. We had calm moments with Baby Reid, and also embraced the chaos of whole family photos with a toddler and a newborn! We got a kick out of Reid’s facial expressions, and laughed at the way his big brother put all of his energy into loving on him!
The Starling family are dear friends! Katie was a college roommate, and every so often, I’ll make the drive to Auburn to take their family photos and stay for a visit. This session marked their daughter Elliot’s first birthday. We met up at The Red Barn and took photos around the property’s beautiful open space.
“When we have a baby, I want you to do our newborn session” – Whitney (Solomon’s mom), years before he was born. He’s been long thought of and prayed for, and he’s finally here! A couple of months after he was born, I got together with him and his parents for a newborn session. It’s one of my favorite newborn sessions to date!
At the end of last year, my shooting schedule was filled to the brim with family sessions! Every year, I’m overwhelmed with gratitude for the incredible families who ask me to be thier photographer. Meeting new people and serving families through photography is one of my favorite things about this work. It keeps me so fulfilled year after year!
