This past spring, I spent a few days in New Orleans with one of my go-to travel friends. It is truly unlike any other city I’ve visited! The colors, the music, the food, the “Louisiana French” pronunciations of street names. After experiencing the city’s unique culture, I understand why so many are prone to make New Orleans a constant in their travel rotation.
Before we get to the photos, I would feel like an unhelpful friend if I didn’t pass along a few recommendations, and if you visit, I want you to experience the best! Here are some of my favorite places to visit/things to do:
Riding the St. Charles streetcar through the Garden District
Drip Affogato Bar for delicious coffee and ice cream combos
Hot Tin Rooftop Bar at the top of the Pontchartrain Hotel – it’s designed like a 1940s artist loft, and has stunning views of downtown
Walking through Lafeyette Cemetery No. 1 in the Garden District
Morning Call for beignets and coffee – a less crowded alternative to Cafe Du Monde located in the beautiful City Park
Bacchanal Wine – an outdoor wine bar with THE BEST small bites and create-your-own cheese plates
Perusing art around Jackson Square
